Right now, the water in the first 14 miles below the dam is still a bit chilly, which has slowed things down a bit. Combined with the lack of rainfall and low dam releases, we haven’t seen the typical surge in Sand Bass numbers just yet. But don’t worry, this is all part of the natural cycle.
A few more weeks of warmer weather and some much-needed rain should bring the prime Sand Bass fishing that the Brazos is known for. We’re looking forward to some hot action for the Fatties crew once conditions improve.
